Mobile Road Blocker M30 from Hörmann

Fairs, music events or Christmas markets – open-air events require appropriate security concepts to protect visitors as effectively as possible. An important part of this concerns securing vehicle entrances. Public spaces should be protected as far as possible from vehicles such as cars or lorries driving through them. For flexible and certified safeguarding, Hörmann offers the mobile Road Blocker M30. Certifications according to the latest standard for portable vehicle security barriers DIN SPEC 91414-1 and IWA 14-1 are available. According to manufacturer specifications, Hörmann is currently the only manufacturer that offers a mobile road blocker in accordance with DIN SPEC 91414-1 with tampering resistance class 2.

The mobile Road Blocker M30 from Hörmann is the right solution when secure and flexible perimeter protection is required. In its basic form, it consists of a total of three elements. In the centre is the module with the alarm contact element, which has a barrier height of 800 mm and is raised by a gas spring. The modules for pedestrian passage are fitted on each side. The individual modules can be freely combined as a modular system and can thus be configured according to customer requirements and the area to be protected.

When the alarm contact element is folded out, the Road Blocker M30 from Hörmann prevents vehicles from driving through. At the same time, the 1.20 metre wide side modules allow wheelchairs, pushchairs, etc. to pass through and provide an escape route in panic situations. The alarm contact element can be lowered by authorised personnel so that authorised vehicles, such as ambulances, can pass through quickly and easily.

The mobile Road Blocker M30 is installed without being fixed in the ground. Therefore, no groundwork and power connections are required. This ensures maximum flexibility, as the road blocker can be quickly and easily set up and disassembled in around 20 minutes and be ready for use at another location shortly afterwards. Regardless of where the event takes place, cities and communities can thus provide appropriate protection for areas that need it.

DIN SPEC 91414-1 and IWA 14-1:

The Road Blocker M30 from Hörmann is certified according to the latest standard for portable vehicle security barriers: it has been tested in accordance with DIN SPEC 91414- 1:2021-01, which includes the international IWA 14-1:2013. The Hörmann solution therefore meets the highest national and international requirements.

The national DIN SPEC 91414-1 is the latest and most rigorous standard defining extensive requirements concerning portable vehicle barriers. In addition to the conventional impact test, it involves a displacement test and a tampering test. According to manufacturer specifications, the Road Blocker M30 is also registered as a utility model in Germany. The impact test of the mobile Road Blocker M30 was carried out in accordance with the international standard IWA 14-1:2013 (7.5 tonne lorry at 50 km/h) and resulted in a braking distance of 22.3 metres. During the displacement test, the 7.5 tonne test vehicle was only able to move the road blocker by 0.1 metres in the direction of travel.

The road blocker is also certified in accordance with tampering resistance class MK2, which indicates the extent to which the protective effect of the barrier can be reduced by potential wrongdoers. Tampering was tested using commercially available mechanical and electrical tools that could be carried by the perpetrator for the purpose of tampering. These tools include crowbars, sledgehammers, bolt cutters and cordless drills. The standard-compliant tampering test takes five minutes.

In addition to the Road Blocker M30, Hörmann has another bollard-based mobile vehicle barrier in its product range, the OktaBlock, which is also available in a DIN SPEC-certified version. The OktaBlock also offers temporary protection against vehicles driving through public spaces, regardless of location. Both solutions are ideal when used in combination. While large areas can be secured quickly and economically with the OktaBlock, the mobile Road Blocker M30 is deployed at vehicle passage points.

Park NFC from Hörmann: Card payment directly at the exit station

A new 2-in-1 solution complements the extensive Hörmann range for car park management. With Hörmann Park NFC, debit and credit cards with an NFC chip can be used as parking IDs and as a means of payment. Payments can be made quickly, conveniently and contactlessly without cash. Neither an automatic pay station nor a paper ticket are required. This minimises costs for the car park operator and ensures cost-optimised management of parking spaces.

Parking management system - Park NFC

Park NFC is a parking management system that uses a bank/credit card (with NFC chip) as contactless parking pass and as a payment method.
- Entry to the parking area is possible with a bank/credit card. The parking customer does not need to get an additional parking ticket.

Mobile vehicle barrier OktaBlock secures access to event grounds. One of its most important features is its octagonal base with a jagged edge. In the event of a vehicle impact, the bollard tilts forward and the base plate with its prongs wedges between the vehicle and the road. Due to the braking effect achieved in this way, the vehicle comes to a standstill and is unfit to drive in just a few metres.
